Tips and Tricks for Cleaning and Detailing Your Exotic Car
When you own a high-end vehicle, there is perhaps nothing more important than keeping it clean. With the power to turn heads, there are almost always eyes on exotic cars, and more often than not, there are people who want to take a look inside. If you’re the type who doesn’t mind showing off every inch of your exotic car, you most often get it detailed often. There are plenty of professionals out there who will detail your car, but if you like to take matters into your own hands, we have a couple of tips for you.
Use Everyday Products
If you have ever tried getting into tight spaces with a rag or microfiber cloth, you likely know that it’s nearly impossible to get every spec of dust and dirt. For that reason, you should open up your bathroom cabinets and pull out the cotton swabs and cotton balls. These can get into tight spaces such as the vents or the handle of the glovebox. Plastic knifes can also be wrapped in a rag and used to clean all of the tight crevices throughout the cabin, such as the seams of the dashboard, or the seat cushions.
Another tool that you can use is a sponge brush, as it manages to hold a bit more liquid than a cotton swab. Dip it in a multipurpose cleaner and wipe away all of the debris in those tiny cracks of the car.
Purchase the Right Products
If you research DIY car detailing, you will find plenty of homemade concoctions that can be used on the dashboard, on the seats, or other areas of the vehicle. We do not recommend that you use some of these homemade products on your vehicle, however. There are many cleaning products that can do some long term damage to the interior of your vehicle, depending on its finish. For example, a solution for cleaning leather may actually only work well on pleather, and can damage your real leather seats.
Your best bet for detailing your exotic car on your own is to purchase professional cleaning products that are specifically made for the materials that you have in your vehicle. Chances are, you picked each one of those materials yourself when custom building your vehicle. To make sure that they stay in the shape that you want them to, you should stick to products that have been tested and approved.
