Lotus, more so than most other exotic brands, is undergoing a massive shift in production. The Elise, Exige, and Evora are all ending after the 2021 model year, being replaced by a performance vehicle being called the Emira. Even though this is the last year for those three models, or perhaps because of it, Lotus has poured all their prowess into making them the best they can be. And today, we’ll be looking at one model specifically: the 2021 Lotus Evora GT.

The 2021 model year marks the 25^th year that the Lotus Elise has been a model, and the 21^st for the Lotus Exige. Both models have had prestigious runs that have made both of the iconic members of the brand’s lineup, but 2021 also marks the end of their runs. Both models are ending production this year, but a few exciting Final Edition models have been designed and produced to celebrate their 2+ decades of production. Historically, a sound designer isn’t exactly something an automobile required throughout the engineering and design process. But as electric vehicle become more prevalent, so to is this practice, especially with top-tier vehicles like the upcoming Lotus Evija. This incredible vehicle is a hypercar despite the fact that it’s all-electric, so it certainly needs to sound like one. The video is only a little over a minute and a half long, but it gives you a quick overview of the history of Lotus Cars, from its founding by Colin Chapman to the stunningly incredible Lotus Evija. The incredible all-electric hypercar known as the Lotus Evija finally made its public debut earlier this month at the iconic Goodwood Speedweek 2020. Featuring a gorgeous black and gold wrap that pays homage to some of the most legendary liveries of previous Lotus models, the vehicle traversed the famous circuit and showed off for the first time publicly.
