Before the Aventador there was the Murcielago, and before the Murcielago there was the Lamborghini Diablo. An iconic V12 Lamborghini model, 2,884 Diablo models were built while it was in production, which was from 1990 to 2001. While they’re certain more rare than pre-owned Aventador and Huracan models, and also a bit rarer than Murcielago and Gallardo models, we’ve seen quite a few used Lamborghini Diablo models pass through our inventory here in North Miami Beach FL.
The first-generation Diablo was built from 1990 to 1998 before it received a facelift for its last few years in production. Throughout both generations, as with all Lamborghini models, it underwent many different variations. The traditional Diablo was built from 1990-1998 with approximately 900 units being produced. In 1993, Lamborghini introduced the Diablo VT, Diablo SE30 and Diablo SE30 Jota. Approximately 400 VT models were built and 150 of the SE30 and SE30 Jota models were built, with just 25 of them being built for the US market. In 1995, 28 more SE30 and SE30 Jota models were built. The automaker also introduced the Diablo SV and the Diablo VT Roadster, of which 200 units were built for the latter. Then 1998 saw the Diablo enter its second generation after the facelift. The base Diablo model became the Diablo SV, with 100 units being built. This generation of the sports car also saw new versions of the Diablo VT and VT Roadster in 1999. Then came the Diablo GT, which saw the introduction of a new Diablo engine that was larger and more powerful. That engine was then also found in the Diablo VT 6.0 and Diablo VT 6.0 SE, which debuted in the year 2000. There were also a few concepts and factory racing specials built throughout the years, but those would be incredibly rare and unlikely to pass through our inventory.
