Bentley is a British brand of luxury cars and utility vehicles that has been around for just over a century. It has decades upon decades of experience building some of the finest vehicles on the market, and even spent a few decades under the guidance of Rolls-Royce. They didn’t always build SUVs, though. In fact, the Bentley Bentayga was the brand’s first production SUV, and it was introduced just a few short years ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015.

The Bentley Bentayga is still in its first generation but has quickly become one of the most popular high-end midsize crossovers on the market. It has fierce competition as luxury utility vehicles increase in popularity and number but would make a great option for any shopper in the segment.

Different Bentley Bentayga Models Available

With only around five years of history, there haven’t been a ton of special edition Bentayga models introduced. Shoppers are able to work with Mulliner, Bentley’s internal customization company, to create bespoke versions of the vehicle special to them, but these aren’t widespread special edition releases. Of course, one of those owners could end up selling their vehicle, which means you could see one of these highly unique models pass through our inventory.

But mostly, there are five different variants of the vehicle in question. For the 2016 model year, only the Bentley with a 6.0L twin-turbocharged W12 engine option was available, though this trim level was replaced in 2020 by the Bentayga Speed model, which increases its 0-60 mph time from 5.2 seconds to 3.9 s. In 2017, a diesel model was introduced, powered by a Volkswagen V8 diesel engine. Then in 2018 a regular V8 version was introduced, powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 s. Finally, in 2019, the Bentayga Hybrid was introduced.
