There are plenty of supercars out there on the market, but we truly believe ours are some of the best. We realize we might be a bit bias in that statement, so we thought we’d take a closer look at exactly how our vehicle fares against one of its biggest competitors. To do that, we’ve built a side-by-side comparison pitting the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ against the Ferrari 812 Superfast.

The Aventador has been the has been the V12-based model on the Lamborghini lineup since 2011, but just last year we saw the next step in its evolution – the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. The track-focused version of the next-gen Aventador S, which debuted in 2017, the SVJ is a true powerhouse on the supercar market. The Ferrari 812 Superfast replaced the F12berlinetta in 2017 as well.

Advantages of the Aventador SVJ

Naturally, power and performance are the most important aspects to consider when shopping for a supercar. Those are the specifications that we’ve analyzed in the table up above, but the only thing that’s clear is just how similar these two supercars are to one another. So, we’ll go through the table row by row for analysis.

When it comes to power output, the Ferrari 812 Superfast has a bit of a leg up on the Aventador SVJ. The first row takes a look at horsepower, in which the 812 Superfast trumps the Aventador SVJ by 30 horsepower. The Aventador SVJ does deliver more torque, as shown in row two, but only a single pound-foot. That won’t make up for the thirty-horsepower deficit.

Even still, that power advantage doesn’t seem to translate to performance for the Ferrari, perhaps due to the SVJ weighing 483 pounds less than the 812 Superfast. Whatever the cause, the Aventador SVJ can get from a complete stop up to 62 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds, with beating its Ferrari counterpart by 0.1 seconds. Furthermore, the Aventador SVJ’s top speed is roughly 6 miles per hour higher than that of the 812 Superfast.
