There has been a natural progression over the past several years for the Lamborghini Huracan. From its humble beginnings in 2014 as the regular Coupe version, delivering 602 horsepower, all the way through to the Performante Spyder, which is capable of generating 631 horsepower. Between them was the first convertible Spyder, then came the detuned Coupe and Spyder which only packed a punch of 572 horsepower, and finally, of course, the first Huracan Performante.
Now we’re being introduced to the next step in the Huracan’s evolution, the first model of the nameplate’s second generation – which is something Lamborghini doesn’t typically do. The new vehicle will be known as the 2020 Lamborghini Huracan EVO in North Miami Beach FL, and it will be a ramped-up version of the vehicle that we cannot wait to get our hands on.
The new Huracan EVO takes everything it learned from the different models that preceded it and pushes it into one beautiful, aggressive package. With updated design cues inside and out plus the Performante powertrain, the Huracan EVO promises to be the best Lamborghini Huracan model to hit the streets yet. When it comes to exterior design, the EVO takes Performante cues such as the rear diffuser and exhaust pipe positioning and adds integrated aeroblades to the front bumper and a ducktail spoiler to the rear fascia, both to increase downforce.
The Performante powertrain permits the EVO to generate 631 horsepower alongside 443 pound-feet of torque, but thanks to titanium intake valves in the exhaust system, its performance is actually improved. The Huracan EVO is capable of hitting 60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds, then going onto 125 mph in just 9 s. The model’s top speed is 202 mph, and it can come to a complete stop from 62 mph in just 32 m.
