Just a few weeks ago, Lamborghini introduced the new generation of the Aventador, its legendary V12 flagship coupe. In case you haven’t yet heard, perhaps the most interesting thing about the SVJ is how it was introduced to the world. Rather than being unveiled on a stage beneath a curtain, Lamborghini showed off its new Aventador SVJ to the world by having it break the Nurburgring-Nordschleife lap record in its camouflaged exterior.
The new Aventador SVJ will of course feature its naturally-aspirated V12 engine, but the new design of the vehicle focuses on aerodynamic performance more than ever before. Designers utilized lightweight materials in its engineering, among other initiatives to help the Lamborghini look as good as it performs, and we think that mission was accomplished.
“The Aventador SVJ is an innovative car and represents the absolute pinnacle of our super sports car product range. The challenge to Lamborghini designers and engineers was to improve the purest essence of the Lamborghini super sports car, drawing on every inspiration from a space ship to a jet fighter: all the most exceptional examples of super-fast, super-athletic, aerodynamic superiority. The Aventador SVJ takes another step into the future, shaping the potential for super sports car development.”- Stefano Domenicali, Chairman & CEO, Automobili Lamborghini
Powered, as we mentioned, by a naturally aspirated V12 engine, the Aventador SVJ is capable of generating 770 horsepower. Along with its four wheel-drive and four-wheel steering, it offers technical supremacy to anyone who slides behind the wheel. Furthermore, it’s capable of hitting 62 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds and going on to hit a top speed of over 217 mph. If you’re interested in making one of these your own, be sure to get in touch with us as soon as possible, because only 900 units will be built in total.
