Lotus Cars has been around since 1952, initially building its legacy around racecars – particularly Formula One. But decades later, it’s just as well known for building production exotic sports cars like the Elise, Exige, and the 2018 Lotus Evora 400 in North Miami Beach FL. The Evora has been around since 2008 and is a truly unique vehicle. Despite being an exotic sports car, it offers seating for four thanks to its 2+2 architecture and is powered by a V6 engine.
Neither of those things is normally associated with exotic sports cars, but the Lotus Evora 400 makes it work. In case you’re worried that the V6 engines won’t provide a quick enough vehicle, the Carabinieri in Milan and Rome – which is a sort of police force – have utilized Evora models as Rapid Response Vehicles since 2011. To add a little extra, those were the Evora S models, which weren’t as powerful as the Evora 400 is now, and the Evora replaced Lamborghini Gallardo models for the Carabinieri.
But a history lesson doesn’t properly describe to you the power and performance that the Lotus Evora 400 delivers. To be more specific about the Evora 400’s engine, it’s a 3.5L V6 that delivers 400 horsepower – hence the name. 400 horsepower in a four-passenger vehicle is pretty impressive, and, to give you a better idea, this 3,153-pound vehicle is capable of hitting a top speed of 186 miles per hour and hitting 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
Performance isn’t the only factor at play in the Lotus Evora 400, either. It has plenty to boast about in its cabin as well. The cockpit was recently redesigned and offers ultra-lightweight sports seats, a hip-hugging driver’s seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel that features a racing line indicator, an ergonomic dashboard layout, heated seats, a backup camera, rear parking sensor and much more.
