Last year Lamborghini introduced something that was the first of its kind. We don’t mean that it simply introduced a brand-new vehicle, it introduced a brand-new type of vehicle – the Super Sport Utility Vehicle. There’s only one other vehicle on the road right now, in our opinion, that can likely give it a run for its money, and that’s the new Grand Cherokee packed with a Hellcat engine. We thought we’d see just how well the Urus does measure up to the Trackhawk by comparing the 2018 Lamborghini Urus vs 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
2018 Lamborghini Urus |
vs |
2018 Jeep Trackhawk |
---|---|---|
650 HP | Horsepower | 707 HP |
4,850 lbs. | Curb Weight | 5,363 lbs. |
190 mph | Top Speed | 180 mph |
3.6 s | 0-62 mph | 3.5 s |
19 mpg | Combined Fuel Efficiency | 13 mpg |
As you can see by taking a glance at the table, this is certainly a heated contest. While the Urus is the world’s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle, the Trackhawk might be the fastest SUV on the market. It’s actually the only vehicle that we’ve compared the Urus against to, unfortunately, offer more horsepower than it, in the form of 57 HP. Of course, that advantage is trimmed down by the fact that the Urus is actually much lighter – 513 pounds lighter, in fact.
That curb weight bonus helps lead to the 10-mph advantage that the Urus has in top speed, but it doesn’t quite help in the track times. The Trackhawk manages to hit 62 miles per hour a hundredth of a second faster than the Lamborghini Urus. However, all of the Trackhawk’s power and weight makes it a little less efficient, allow the Urus to actually get 6 miles to the gallon more than the Trackhawk.
If you’re okay with giving up a bit of power for extra efficiency and a higher top speed, then consider the 2018 Lamborghini Urus. It’s an exotic crossover, which means it’s also going to offer much more content than the Trackhawk, which is another huge bonus.
