Automotive enthusiasts all over the country went nuts when Ford announced it was going to be bringing back its iconic and legendary GT supercar. Unfortunately, it has been a slow burn since then. Hardly any models have been built and sold, and it’s still very much an auto show attraction. We thought we’d see how this stylish supercar measures up to one of our own supercars, by pitting the 2018 Lamborghini Huracan against the Ford GT.
The Ford GT was first introduced back in 2004, though it has been used in nameplates before. The vehicle only lasted a couple of model years, but it built up quite a reputation for itself. The second generation was first unveiled at NAIAS in 2015, with production kicking off in December the following year. Due to their low rate of production, new models won’t be able to be purchased until 2020.

>201 mph | Top Speed | 216 mph |

As you can see by taking a gander at the table above, the Ford GT does unfortunately trump the Lamborghini Huracan in quite a few fields, however it’s not by much. The first row looks at horsepower, which shows the GT generates an extra 45 HP. While that is a good amount, it’s not a game changer by any means. The same can be said for torque, which the Huracan is at a 137 pound-feet deficit.
However, the two vehicles hit very similar top speeds. The Huracan’s top speed isn’t specific, but it can pass 201 miles per hour while the Ford GT tops out at 216 mph specifically. Unfortunately, the Ford GT does hit 60 miles per hour faster, but only by 3 tenths of a second. If you can overlook the slight deficits and/or don’t want to wait around for a couple more years, then consider getting your hands on a 2018 Lamborghini Huracan today!
