2018 Lamborghini Huracan vs 2018 Tesla Model S

Over the past several years, technology has advanced leaps and bounds when it comes to electrifying vehicles. One of the biggest fears when vehicles first started turning toward electricity in addition to or instead of gasoline as performance vehicles. But companies like Tesla have certainly turned that negative stigma around. We wanted to see just how well one of our iconic gas-powered supercars measures up to one of Tesla’s models, so we decided to compare the Lamborghini Huracan to the Model S.

The Model S was first introduced back in 2012 as the brand’s first official vehicle. So, in fact, the Model S has been around longer than the Lamborghini Huracan. But the Huracan has had several years to improve and enhance itself, just like the Tesla sedan.

2018 Lamborghini Huracan

Vs

2018 Tesla Model S

602 HP Horsepower 518 HP
413 lb-ft. Torque 243 lb-ft.
3,135 lbs. Curb Weight 4,883 lbs.
3.2 s 0-60 mph 4.1 s

Advantages of the 2018 Huracan

In order to compare these two vehicles, we accumulated some important data into the table above. We looked at some of the pertinent power specifications and performance times to get a really good idea of how they measure up to one another. You can see that the 2018 Model S is incredibly impressive for an electric super car, but it still can’t quite compete with the Huracan.

Starting with the first row, the Huracan delivers an extra 84 horsepower more than the Model S. That alone isn’t a massive, game-changing advantage, but when coupled with the second and third rows, which show that the Huracan also delivers an extra 170 pound-feet of torque and weighs an incredible 1,748 pounds less than the Model S, it becomes a pretty hefty advantage. The fruits of that advantage are on display in the final row of the table, which shows how fast each model gets up to 60 miles per hour. The Lamborghini hits the mark nearly a full second quicker than the Tesla, or 0.9 s to be specific.
