When we say the words exotic sports car, Lamborghini is probably one of the brands that comes to mind. Perhaps the Aventador model even popped into your head specifically. What most likely was not the first thing you though of is Nissan, as they’re not exactly known for making premium or high-performance vehicles. But all that changed back in 2007 with the GT-R. Nissan is still much better known for its affordable everyday drivers, but the GT-R has certainly asserts its presence in the high-performance market, so we thought we’d see how it measures up to one of our vehicles by pitting the 2018 Lamborghini Aventador vs 2018 Nissan GT-R.

2018 Nissan GT-R |
---|---|---|
700 HP | Horsepower | 565 HP |
3,472 lbs. | Curb Weight | 3,929 lbs. |
2.7s | 0-60 mph | 2.9s |
10.4s | Quarter Mile | 11.0s |
In conducting our competitive comparison, we’ve built the table up above to give you a more visual look at how the two vehicles differ. In the first row we of course looked at horsepower, which gives you a pretty good idea of how exactly this comparison is going to go down. The Aventador offers 135 horsepower more than the GT-R, and on top of that it weighs nearly 500 pounds less to boot, making that advantage even wider.
Those advantages are then given a more visible representation in the second half of the table, which shows the Aventador can hit 60 miles per hour 0.2 seconds faster than the GT-R and run the quarter mile 0.6 s faster. In other words, the Aventador blows the GT-R out of the water. It’s stylish and affordable, but the GT-R still has nothing on premium exotic sports cars like the Lamborghini Aventador.
