One of the most popular Lamborghini models in recent memory was the Murcielago, but in 2011 the Aventador took over the mid-engine V12 class for the brand and has been turning heads ever since. The Aventador is a beast of a machine, doling out an incredible amount of power and making it competitively one of the most powerful production sports cars on the exotic market. But there are plenty of other exotic sports cars out there making the segment competitive, so we thought we’d see how our machine measures up by pitting the 2018 Lamborghini Aventador vs 2018 Ferrari 488.

2018 Ferrari 488 |
---|---|---|
700 HP | Horsepower | 661 HP |
3,472 lbs. | Curb Weight | 3,252 |
2.7 s | 0-60 mph | 2.9 s |
10.4 s | Quarter Mile | 10.5 s |
While the Huracan didn’t quite measure up to the Ferrari 488, the table above makes it pretty clear that the Aventador measures up and a whole lot more. As per usual, the first row takes a look at horsepower, of which the Aventador offers an extra 39 HP. In terms of curb weight, which the second row looks at, the Aventador is 220 pounds heavier, which offsets its power advantage a bit.
But clear not by much, as the second half of the table shows the Aventador trumping the Ferrari 488 on the track. It hits 60 miles per hours 0.2 seconds faster and can run the quarter mile 0.1 seconds faster. Those are pretty incredible numbers, for both vehicles, but the Aventador pulls out all the stops and wins this comparison. Especially when you consider all the things the Aventador has to offer outside of its engine bay, which we can fill you in on if you give us a call here at Prestige Imports.
