Currently, there are three model lines available on the Lamborghini lineup. Each of them has their own trim levels and different models to choose from, and when it comes to the Aventador family, it offers a convertible model called the Roadster. We thought we’d see how this exotic sports convertible fares against one of its biggest competitors by pitting the 2018 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster vs 2018 Ferrari 488 Spider.
The Aventador has been around since the 2011 model year, with the Roadster model being introduced two years later in 2013. On the flip side, the Ferrari 488 was just recently introduced for the 2015 model year, with its convertible Spider model coming the following year.
2018 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster |
Vs |
2018 Ferrari 488 Spider |
---|---|---|
730 HP | Horsepower | 660 HP |
507 lb-ft. | Torque | 560 lb-ft. |
3.0 s | 0-62 mph | 3.0 s |
217 mph | Max Speed | 203 mph |
As you can see with one glance at the table above, these two exotic cars are quite similar to one another, but each has its advantages, the biggest coming right away in the first row, and it’s in the Lamborghini model’s favor. Performance and power are obviously the most important aspects of exotic sports cars like these, so an advantage of 70 horsepower is pretty crucial, which is what the Aventador Roadster has. Torque is important as well, however, and the 488 Spider fires right back by offering 53 pound-feet more than the Aventador Roadster, but is that enough to turn the tide?
Some might say yes, considering the third row depicts that the two cars are evenly matched in terms of acceleration, each hitting 62 miles per hour in exactly 3 seconds flat. However, the Aventador’s superior horsepower does show in the fourth and final row, which shows its advantage of 14 miles per hour in terms of maximum speed.
