The Mercedes-Benz lineup is packed full of incredible luxury vehicles in a multitude of segments, from big to small, sedan to utility vehicle, and everything in between. We’ve almost always got a pretty big selection of Mercedes-Benz vehicles to choose from and lately we’ve been seeing quite a few GLS-Class models pass through our inventory here in North Miami Beach FL. We love getting Mercedes-Benz models in stock because they’re stunning, packed with premium content and always perform well. Originally known as the GL-Class, the full-size luxury crossover was renamed alongside its mid-generation facelift during the course of the model’s second generation. The vehicle’s first generation ran from 2006 to 2012, its second from 2013 to 2019 and it kicked off its third in 2020.
Different Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class Models Available
As with every Mercedes-Benz model, there are a multitude of variants and special editions to choose from. Typically, we focus on just the current generation, but since the model’s third gen just kicked off last year, we’ll include its second-generation models as well. The second generation included five different variations of the GLS-Class SUV, some of which received facelifts in 2016. The different models include the GL350, GL450, GL550, GL63 AMG and GL350 BlueTEC. So far, the third generation has just four different models to choose from. They include the GLS 450 4MATIC, GLS 580 4MATIC, Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC and AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+. All four models are powered in part by a 48V mild hybrid powertrain. The GLS 450 4MATIC is powered by an 3.0L inline-4 engine that can generate a total of 383 bhp and accelerate from 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds. The other models replace the 4-cylinder engine with a 4.0L V8 biturbo, but each model is enhanced to offer more superior performance. The GLS 580 4MATIC can generate a total of 504 hp and accelerates in 5.3 s, while the Maybach model generates 571 hp and accelerates in 4.9 s. The AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+ model is the highest performing model available, generating 624 hp and being able to accelerate from 0-60 in 4.2 s.
