Back in 2004, the luxury Infiniti brand introduced its new full-size, flagship sport utility vehicle. Back then, the vehicle was known as the QX56 until the middle of its second generation – which kicked off in 2010 – when the vehicle’s name was changed to what it remains today, the QX80. Still in its second generation now, the QX80 underwent its second mid-generation facelift in 2018. Every once in a while, we see a used Infiniti model pass through our inventory here in North Miami Beach FL, and typically, when we do, it’s one of these flagship SUVs.

Unlike a lot of luxury brands, Infiniti isn’t known for releasing a host of variants or special edition models. It does have its fair share of trim levels to choose from though. Looking specifically at the 2021 model year, shoppers can choose between six different grades when shopping for an Infiniti QX80. They include the Luxe, Luxe 4WD, Premium Select, Premium Select 4WD, Sensory and Sensory 4WD. In other words, it has three available trims, each of which is available with either rear- or four-wheel drive.

Naturally, Luxe is the entry-level trim while Sensory is the top-of-the-line model, with Premium coming somewhere in the middle. This means that Sensory will be packed full of the most premium and luxurious content and technologies available, while Luxe will have the least. But, as you could probably gather from its name being Luxe, the entry-level trim still has plenty to offer considering this is the flagship SUV of a luxury brand.
