Performance Specs & Premium Features
The 2006 Elise is from smack-dab in the middle of the nameplate’s second generation. It’s powered by a 1.8L mid-mounted inline four-cylinder engine, capable of generating 120 horsepower alongside 124 pound-feet of torque. That might not sound like a ton of power compared to many of the vehicles being built today, but when you consider the vehicle’s low curb weight of less than 2,000 pounds, it begins to make sense. Besides, it’s enough power to enable the Elise to get from a complete stop up to 60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds and to run the quarter mile in 13.2 s.
As a premium vehicle more focused on performance than anything else, the 2006 Lotus Elise isn’t packed with the kinds of features you might expect to see in other exotic vehicles. All of its exciting features are focused around performance, such as its Brembo brakes, Yokohama Advan Neova LTS R-speed performance tires, stainless steel silencer with dual chrome exhaust tips and dual composite sport front bucket seats. It does have a few entertainment and convenience features though, like its remote keyless entry system and Blaupunkt 4-speaker sound system.
