It hasn\u2019t been all that long since the last time we looked at a vintage Toyota Land Cruiser<\/a>, but we\u2019ve currently got two in stock and these throwback models are quite rare to be in such fine condition. The model in question today is a 1983 Land Cruiser FJ40 that we have for sale right here in North Miami Beach FL. It\u2019s a completely different type of Land Cruiser from the 1980 model we looked at recently<\/a>, in this case, a two-door short wheelbase four-wheel-drive model with a hardtop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The J40 series is the name given to the Land Cruisers built\nfrom 1960 to 1984. This two-door traditional SUV features a hardtop and\ninward-facing rear bench seats. The FJ40 is the most basic of the J40 series,\nand the 1983 models \u2013 which this one is \u2013 were the last built before\ntransitioning to the next generation, which was the J70 series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powered by a 4.2L 4-cylinder engine, this vintage Land\nCruiser is capable of generating 135 horsepower alongside 210 pound-feet of\ntorque. While it might not have the off-road technologies present in today\u2019s\nvehicles, this Land Cruiser was built to tackle the off-road, which is\ncertainly obvious by looking at its wheels and tires and other various features\naround the exterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the inside, there aren\u2019t a ton of modern features either,\nthough you can maximize cargo space by folding up the pair of rear jump seats\nthat we mentioned earlier.
