<\/p>\nUber recently announced that it will be teaming up with Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, for a deployment of self-driving cars. With so many automakers now jumping into the mix, how far away are autonomous cars in the future?<\/p>\n
\nIt\u2019s becoming more clear that driverless cars are the future of the auto industry. We\u2019re still decades away from anything that resembles a warp drive, but autonomous vehicles available to a mass market could be a reality in the next 5 years.<\/p>\n
Fully-driverless vehicles are still in testing stages, but it won\u2019t be long until ridesharing companies like Uber or Lyft will be sending driverless vehicles to pick you up at home.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest problems that faces a quick introduction of autonomous cars is humanity! These driverless cars will actually have to learn how to react with their passengers inside the vehicles, as well as pedestrians on the street and human drivers in other vehicles.<\/p>\n
We make a countless number of small errors on the road, but we\u2019ve always been able to comprehend and adapt accordingly. Self-driving automobiles will need to quickly adapt to human drivers!<\/p>\n
While we won\u2019t have to worry about a robot car uprising, autonomous cars are controlled by a computer system \u2014 one that can be broken into, like any other computer system.<\/p>\n
