We figured… we’re already in 1962, why not just hang out there for a while? Last week Wednesday, we looked at a 1962 Corvette, one of the last of its kind, and today we’ll be looking at the 50th-anniversary version of the 1962 Shelby Cobra, a vehicle that was pretty much a direct competitor to that Corvette we looked at earlier, though this one was made 50 years later in 2012. This vehicle is an exact replica of the original model, with only a few things changed to make it safe to drive today – and yes, it is drivable.

Specs & Features
Featuring a rear-wheel drive system and a 4-speed manual transmission tethered to a 4.3L V8 engine capable of generating 250 horsepower alongside 269 pound-feet of torque, this incredible machine was capable of hitting a top speed of 139 miles per hour but getting to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. This replica version has only 263 miles on it, so you’ll have plenty of time to get behind the wheel and take it for drives if you want, though it’d make a fantastic piece in any collection as well.
What started off as a request from Carroll Shelby to AC Cars turned into the first Shelby Cobra powered by a Ford V8 engine, and the rest, as they say, is history. Decades later, Shelby cars are some of the most recognizable muscle cars in the game and are still being made as special edition versions of iconic Ford vehicles like the Mustang.
